Engineering Systems That Go Beyond Just Solving Problems.
For more than forty years, I have developed products, manufacturing equipment, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and operational strategies for some of the most demanding industrial applications in North America.
My engineering philosophy is different from what is traditionally taught.
I begin by understanding the governing physics of the process before attempting to design the solution.
Whether I am working with composite materials, heavy steel forgings, induction bending, pipeline fittings, manufacturing operations, or organizational change, I ask the same question:
What is the system trying to do?
Once that answer is understood, the solution becomes obvious.
Throughout my career, I have founded companies, developed patented products, designed large industrial equipment, rebuilt failing manufacturing systems, led plant operations, and transformed organizations by eliminating constraints instead of treating symptoms.
- I believe quality is engineered into the process—not inspected into the product.
- I believe operators rarely create bad processes; they become experts at surviving them.
- I believe the best engineering anticipates how materials and systems will behave tomorrow rather than reacting to what they did yesterday.
The philosophy that has guided my career can be summarized in one sentence: I engineer systems by first understanding the physics of the process causing the problem, then correcting or creating new systems that improve outcomes.
Today, I continue helping manufacturers solve complex engineering and operational challenges with the engineering principles learned throughout my career.
I am based in Houston, Texas, and available for travel to manufacturing facilities when the work requires being on site.
